A Walsall students’ story of progression from a study programme to an apprenticeship through Juniper Training has been published by the Express and Star

The Express and Star has published an article, regarding a student in Walsall, who we helped progress from a study programme to an apprenticeship. In early September 2020, Serish Hussain began her journey with Juniper so she could complete her education and get on the career ladder! She previously went to her local college, whilst having health and social care and childcare qualifications, but the staff predicted her a grade 3 for both Math and English – so she urgently needed to achieve the Math and English grades she wanted in the November re-sit. The teachers here at Juniper believed that Serish was very capable of getting the higher grades. Eventually, when she opened the results envelope and noticed that she received a grade 5 for both subjects, she was extremely proud of herself. Since then, Serish started a childcare course, learning about safeguarding, valuing and respecting children as individuals, communicating effectively, understanding child development and meeting children’s basic needs. This helped her become more confident when communicating with people, and then her teacher, Sarah Jones, helped secure her a work experience position at a pre-school nursery called Tiny Talents. Read more about her journey on the Express and Star website. Well done Serish, we are very proud of you,
