Start Your Career in Construction
If you’re aged 16 to 18 – or up to 24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan – Juniper Training’s Forging Futures programme in Leeds is the ideal first step into the construction industry. Based at the impressive Kirkstall Forge site, our training centre provides a supportive and professional environment where you can develop the skills, qualifications and confidence to become fully site ready.
What the Programme Offers
Over five to six months, you will work towards nationally recognised qualifications designed to prepare you for the world of work. Alongside personal development training, you’ll gain Functional Skills in maths and English, up to Level 2, ensuring you have the essential knowledge that employers expect.
Your training also includes a range of industry-recognised safety courses. These cover practical, job-relevant topics such as abrasive wheels, power tool safety and working at heights, with the opportunity to complete an NPORS certificate in plant operations. Together, these modules build the foundation for safe, effective work on live construction sites.
Just as importantly, you will have the chance to take part in real work experience placements with local employers. This gives you the opportunity to put your new skills into practice, get a feel for life on site, and start building valuable industry contacts.
