Learning and Development

Juniper offers all new and existing staff the opportunity to learn and develop. As our business is focused on delivering good quality training to help people to change their lives, it is vital that our staff feel competent within their roles. Training is available from your first day with us and continues throughout your employment via internal and external training. Training is delivered by our HR Team as well as by staff who have been highlighted as having an expertise in a particular field. Here are some of the opportunities available to staff:

New staff induction

Every person that is offered employment with Juniper is required to attend a one day induction. This takes place at our Central Support Services office in Wolverhampton and gives all staff the opportunity to meet the senior management team.

Relevant information on staff benefits
Staff training opportunities
When starting at your centre you will be able to shadow a staff member of the same role and also learn from staff in other roles to ensure that you are fully aware of the student journey. Staff are encouraged to visit other centres where possible to learn about them and help build relationships.

Induction Plans

You will be given an Induction Plan on day one of your induction. Induction plans identify key areas of specific job roles giving you the opportunity to learn about all aspects of your job. This enables us to identify any training needs you may have. Once these are identified, you can attend various internal/external training sessions to improve your knowledge, confidence and ability.

Competency is demonstrated once all areas pertaining to the specific job roles have been signed off – this is achieved through providing evidence and regular discussion. Juniper continues to support and develop staff throughout the six month competency period to ensure staff are fully competent in their job roles.

Throughout the year various internal training courses are arranged for you to attend. These courses are published so that staff are aware of up and coming sessions and can arrange their own training. We ensure we cover all areas to help support you when carrying out your job.
Staff are encouraged to highlight any external training that they feel will help them within their role.
