IT'S PROGRESSION O'CLOCK!
On this week's addition of the new hit craze, 'tick tock it's progression o'clock', we want to shout about the opportunity given to our students by Community Action Derby to become 'Digital Champions'. This will see students looking to improve their IT skills by working with elderly people and introducing them to various IT devices.

This week our PC's have hit the WEX jackpot! After lots of hard work, they have managed to secure WEX placements at Greenwich Gardens Care Home. This is a huge opportunity across three large sites and really opens the door for students interested in gaining valuable experience in the health and social care sector.

Another September has come around in Derby and it can only mean one thing, the Derbyshire Skills Festival is back! Today and tomorrow (20th and 21st September) Juniper will be appearing at the Skills Festival at The Roundhouse to meet and talk to anyone who is interested in acquiring work experience and improving their maths and English qualifications. The event is free, and Juniper will be there from 3.30pm to 8pm on both days.

We had the fantastic opportunity yesterday to get a behind the scenes tour of the mighty Derby County's home ground, Pride Park Stadium! The tour focused on what jobs Derby County can offer both in and outside of football, and we were delighted to learn about opportunities in hospitality, IT and business admin to name a few! We were delighted to welcome Kate from St John Ambulance service in to Juniper Derby yesterday to deliver an invaluable first aid course to our students. The students learnt how to recognise a range of symptoms, as well as gaining practical skills in CPR, bandages and other important first aid skills to help them in life and boost their ever-increasing CV's.
