Stay at home, stay safe and stop coronavirus from spreading

If you need to leave your home it should only be for 1 of the following 4 reasons:

  1. Purchasing basic necessities, such as food and medicine – this must be as infrequent as possible
  2. Only one form of outdoor exercise a day which can be a run, walk or cycling – this must be alone or only with other members of your household
  3. Any emergency medical requirements or needs, or to provide support/help/care to a vulnerable person
  4. If you cannot work from home and travel is essential for your work then this would be allowed for the time being

When doing any of the above activities you should try to minimise any time you spend outside of the home, ensuring you are at least 2 metres apart from any other person outside of your household.

How can you stop the infection from spreading?

There are a number of things you can do to help reduce any risk of you and anyone living with you from getting ill with coronavirus.

make sure you wash hands with soap and hot water regularly – do this for a minimum of 20 seconds

please use hand sanitiser gel when and where soap and hot water are not available

if you leave your property please wash your hands, as above, as soon as you get back home

if you cough or sneeze please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands)

place any used tissues into a bin immediately and wash your hands, as above, afterwards

If your hands have not been cleaned and sanitised then do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth
